This man doesn’t deserve to be free let alone roam the streets of Westport. I am a teen currently living in Westport and I, myself and many others would not feel safe if he were to be let out to walk the streets of Westport and surrounding communities.

I just heard today from a coworker from Westport that Douglas Sims might be released. Growing up in Westport I remember when this happened and how horrible it was and how terrible I felt for the family. Douglas Simms is a monster that needs never see the light of day. Douglas Simms needs to stay in prison.

I sit beside Brad in sixth grade and remember his seat being empty the morning the teachers were explaining that Brad was no longer with us. I had already heard about it I believe over the weekend from my parents and grandparents. Brad was a great kid who should still be enjoying life. I have a beautiful wife and two children now. Brad will never know what that feels like because of the murderer Simms. I can remember all the teachers and students crying. Simms should serve the full 60 years and quite honestly, I think people should receive the death penalty for such an act like his. My children are now 11 and 14. I couldn't imagine. God bless all of Brad's family!

Everyone knows there is NO CURE for pedophiles. Old age does not stop it either. I have read thousands of true crime books where old men in wheelchairs with no legs were still molesting kids. I think we need a few good old fashion hangings in the public square. These animals know that they can terrorize our children, threaten their families and take away their innocence. I bet if they thought they were going to be dealt with swiftly and put to death they wouldn't be near as likely to touch another child. As it is now they know that if they get the death penalty the chances of them being put to death is still minimal unless it is 10 to 20yrs. down the road. Why should one man or woman (It is a lot rarer but it does happen) that molests a child get the chance to ever be released. I don't think we should wait until they kill a child to take action. GET CAUGHT ONE TIME AND LEAST OF ALL SHOULD BE LIFE WITH NO PAROLE (When it actually means no parole. I am so sick of hearing about good time leading to cutting sentences in half. There are plenty of men locked up for life on the 3rd strike rule that have NO VIOLENCE in their history. How many strikes should a pedophile get? I vote for One strike with a bullet between the eyes.

The heinous acts this man committed speaks for themselves. He needs to be kept in prison. If he was truly remorseful he would accept his punishment knowing it is not just justified that it is merciful more merciful than the non mercy he bestowed on that poor child.
