Taxis continuously cross the lights from the wrong lane to avoid waiting in a queue of traffic, as well as crossing after the lights have turned red. As an adult one looks out for this sort of behaviour, but there are children crossing that road. Do we have to have a child killed before this gets policed?

Put poles in the road so that they cannot go straight in the wrong lane

Traffic officers should be stationed at this intersection and arrest offending taxi drivers on the spot.

That traffic light is the Wild West. Sadly it’s a great example of everything this country shouldn’t be !

While there is a school at a very busy intersection more must be done to keep the crossing safe and to stop cars from jumping the traffic light. Now.

I fear for my life every time I drive through the circle at IY and the traffic lights at the international school. Seems that no traffic laws exist

One has to approach all traffic lights and circles in HB with great caution with regular vehicles jumping red lights and at circles passing onto the wrong side of the road in order to overtake queue

A full traffic flow assessment is required of the Imizamo Yethu circle and the impact of the 3 pedestrian crossings, through to and including the traffic lights at the intersection and entrance into the International School. The traffic no longer flows at peak times and the taxi drivers engage in illegal and dangerous tactics to bypass the traffic jam.

Please can we have more law enforcement here and around hout bay for the many taxis that are not obeying basic road regulations. Random checks to pull these guys over would be ideal to try and put a stop to this.

Do we have to wait for people to be killed before we do something about this!
