I think a combination of solutions is necessary. Would love to see Hout Bay take on road lawlessness as a serious issue even if it is only for our immediate vicinity. Appropriate obstacles PLUS police presence and rampant ticketing for offences.. Hout Bay could be known as the area where you don't break the law.. We could prove it could be done. and at a minimum we could make it safer for our community. The police presence (unmarked car) could be at random times). This is how it works in America. In addition, the actions taken to address lawlessness on the road could encourage lawfulness in other areas.

The level of LAWLESSNESS all over Hout Bay is SHOCKING to say the least! Traffic Officials are nowhere to enforce the laws !!

The level of lawlessness, shocking driving and unlicensed unroadworthy vehicles driven by minors is unacceptable! No regard for other road users, always aggressive and intimidatory! Sort it out instead of just turning a blind eye traffic officials!1

It's not just that intersection. Taxi drivers are lawless and not a soul does anything about them. where are the traffic cops? Haven't seen one in years.

It is only a mater of time before a ignorant taxi driver kills a school kid by jumping that red light. Get those idiots off the road

Have seen taxi buses and taxi sedans drive into right turn lane and when lights turn green they pull off fast and swing left directly in front of you to go straight. On one or two occasions they did above but didnot even wait for lights to turn green

Need a circle - there's going to be a serious accident there very soon!

It is time that the people of Hout Bay get fair treatment by the traffic police. The wide jockeying of most of the taxis in this area are a law unto themselves.

Please do something about this problem before we have an incident like the one in Durban early this week where 3 school kids were killed by one of these cockroach taxis. These drivers need to be jailed an their vehicles impounded.

Why is it too much to ask, to abide by road safety laws

It’s time this came to an end ! These guys have no idea about road rules and are an absolute danger to innocent people . A barrier needs to be set up urgently !

Totally agree. The ignoring of the rules of the road will lead to a fatality very soon.

It is unacceptable that the taxis think they don’t have to wait at the red light, like the rest of us . The laws of the road apply to them too
