I am part of a Boycott against TLC's "Tattoo School" show. It is an insult to our profession to promote learning our skills in 2 weeks. Disrespectful to all tattoo artists. Artists will unite to boycott show and advertisers supporting this show.

Some of the Reasons Behind the Outrage Towards TLC, Tattoo School and All Advertiser Supporting this Show are:

In 2 Weeks time to be considered a Quality amount of time to learning how to tattoo is Outrageous. That is not enough time Is be taught Proper Education about Bloodborne Pathogens and Cross Contaminations including how to tattoo.

It is a Huge Health Risk Issue which can turn into an Epidemic if not taken Seriously. Health and Safety is a huge concern for any professional tattoo artist and tattoo shop. Especially dealing with peoples health as well as the artists safety.

It's a Health Department Concern which each state has It's own Regulations and Requirements that must be followed. Which now has started tattoo artists to unite to get stricter regulations.

Teachers and schools should be held to higher standards especially concerning health. The Tattoo Learning Center's own website pictures show major Bloodborne Pathogens and Cross Contamination concerns. This is scary and needs to be changed.

Not to mention in the Tattoo Community there is a process which needs to be followed like "Paying your dues". That might not be something which everyone can understand if you are not in the industry but to those of us who are, it is about Respect for the craft, Talent, Our mentors who led the way, Passion and Respect. Paying Your Dues is earning the Right to call yourself a Tattoo Artist. It's Not an easy road but anything in life worth something Is not meant to be easy. We work hard and It's an Honor to call yourself a Tattoo Artist. Tradition's are important.

Please show your support to the Tattoo Artists and Tattoo Shops who have led the way and take this as Insult to Health Concerns.

Thank You For Your Support

Ten thousand of us have now told TLC that their reckless mockery of our profession ends here. They think they can churn out amateur tattooers in two weeks but this shows they are dead wrong. We are going to keep the pressure on their advertisers until this dangerous show is off the air.

One thousand artists have drawn a line in the sand against the reckless hacks at TLC. This show is a danger to public health and we are not stopping until the network stops peddling this dangerous garbage.

One hundred of us have now drawn a line in the sand against TLC and their dangerous mockery of our craft. This network thinks they can cheapen our professional standards for ratings but they clearly underestimated how fast we would strike back.

This is crazy. I will definitely support this petition. My husband is a professional tattooist and he has spent 20 years learning his profession and to think that someone considers two weeks a long enough training time to be a professional tattooist is outrageous.

Crazy to think it's ok to have someone tattooing people after just a few weeks of training! I'm not a tattoo artist but I am a collector of many works of art on my body and it's against the tattoo code to not apprentice under a already artist for atleast a year! U can learn basics I'm sure in couple weeks but at the end of the day it takes years to master a craft like tattooing and quit frank it is a shame TLC thinks it's ok to do what they are doing to get tv ratings and to make money!

They need to shut it down...iv been doing this for 24 years...it took me 6 years to stop sweating in my gloves...procedures are first and for most... And that takes up the three months...to learn properly... If you don't have this knowledge you endanger everyone....

So called ''tattoo schools'' are enough of an insult already. Tattoo reality shows have done enough damage to the industry so far, this is unacceptable.

We have slogged and grafted for years to earn the right to call ourselves artists and be good enough to open our own studio. this is a joke and an insult
