The Dispatch has decided to let go of over 200 workers. Some that have been there for 40 years. Their reasoning is the printing press is to old and would cost to much to get a new one. So they are moving the paper to Cedar Rapids IA. Who wants a "local" paper that is now being done in another city. This will just raise the price of your news paper to have it driven in 90 min away. Let alone the establishment didn't care enough to make efforts to keep jobs of all these long time workers with families to take care of. I urge you to cancel your subscriptions, get the word out, boycott the Dispatch.
The economimy is bad enough. But to move this out of the area just kind of rubs salt in the wound. A local paper should be just that! LOCAL!
