1. MHS does not even offer a 7 day guarantee on animals they adopt out.

3. MHS has handed over "unadoptable" dogs to local rescues, who have transformed them into loving pets... Click here
4. MHS Euthanizes dogs, who were once deemed adoptable, for treatable MEDICAL reasons occurring while in their custody (I.e.- happy tail syndrome)

5. MHS euthanizes dogs, who were once deemed adoptable, for BEHAVIORAL changes occurring while in their custody (i.e.- kennel crazy)
6. MHS spend much of their donations on in house lawyers, and marketing; in lieu of saving the lives of treatable animals.

7. MHS turns away "strays" and directs them to DAC although they claim to take in 5-6,000 strays a year in metro area.

9. MHS testifies against dog owners in bite situations where they have a vested financial claim in the outcome.
10. MHS contracts with cities to hold "bite" cases during the duration of a court case, yet do not offer that service to private citizens and then testify against the private citizens in court.

I am currently drafting formal correspondence to the corporate offices of PetSmart and Petco regarding the operational policies of their local partners. Expect a summary of any received replies once these communications are formally acknowledged by their management teams.

Enough is enough on how these animals are being treated. This makes me sick to my stomach and I will never take my animals for treatment there ever again. I will pay for a vet who cares.
*****Every allegation in this boycott is based on verifiable facts... backed with links, please feel free to research it yourself***** I completely understand not wanting to believe that MHS follows these practices and procedures within their organization; but they do. -the ugly truth
I'm really shocked at the reports that have surfaced about MHS.i used to donate monthly to the michigan mhs.never ever again
They also put dogs down when they know he o she came from a rescue that would take it back, put down dogs that have slight mange and pups they think MIGHT be exposed to parvo. Even though it is known to have a save rate of 80% with treatment.
I used to donate to them but stopped 2 years ago.they dont use the donated funds properly in my opinion.
Stop mistreatment of pets.
When are people going to wake up and realize that MHS is not what they try to portray to the public.

What you do to people and they're fur babies is unbelievable. You people are supposed to bring families back together but instead your tearing them apart.. I don't know how you people sleep at nice.. I hope someday you feel the pain that you put these families through..
