I just received word that Dunham's is officially ending the sale of these weapons. This outcome belongs entirely to the people who listened to a ten year old girl and chose to take a stand. I am still stunned by what we managed to achieve together.

Final supporters
My 10-year old daughter wrote the below letter to our local sporting goods store Dunham's. She is disturbed by their continued sale of military style assault rifles and high capacity magazines in the wake of Sandy Hook. She asks that you join our family's boycott of Dunham's until they stop selling assault rifles and high capacity magazines. We instead plan to shop at Dick's Sporting Goods because they suspended their sale of such items.
Here is her letter. Please join us in boycotting Dunham's.
Dear Dunham's,
I'm a 10 year old girl that lives in Michigan. My family and I are really athletic. We do softball, basketball, gymnastics, and so on. And we go to your store to buy supplies. But when I found out that you were selling assault rifles, I decided to stop shopping at your store, because I don't think citizens should have armed assault rifles. I'm going to ask family and friends to stop shopping at your store too. I plan to start a boycott. I'm very disappointed with your selling of assault rifles.

I never imagined that my daughter's simple letter would resonate with so many people. It is truly humbling to see all of you choosing to stand with Rebecca on this quiet issue that matters so much to our family.

Seeing so many people stand behind Rebecca honestly leaves me speechless. This momentum belongs entirely to the kindness of strangers who heard a young girl and decided to take a stand with her. I am just humbled to be a part of what you are all building together.

Our family now does our sport shopping at Dick's, since they banned assault rifle sales, and raised the age of firearm sales in general. Dunham's, it's up to you to raise your moral standards now. You can do it!
My kids play travel soccer and we used to go to Dunham's all the time. Not anymore. If they cant show common sense then we wont spend our money there.
Enough is enough. NO ONE needs a weapon like that for hunting. Take them off the shelves now.
I wont step foot in another dunham's store until they stop selling these rifles. simple as that.
so proud of that little girl for speaking up. dunham's you are losing customers fast cause we are sick of this!!!

Stop! Destroy all guns now! Any other option pales in comparison to the loss of life of human and nonhuman persons to the scourge of guns & gun culture in America!
