Reasons that i strongly disagree berries to implement HBL on very young children is beacuse HBL is unable to engage a child's attention and interest with interactive strategies that rely on a small group dynamic and a trained teacher to respond to the child's input. The lively environment is difficult to replicate in an online setting, more so without a teacher guiding.
Every child is different. Every child has different learning needs and areas of strengths and weaknesses that a teacher would need to identify and work on.
E-learning platforms flatten a teacher's ability to attend to every child's needs closely. This is especially so for young children.
For the pre-schoolers, it is already scientifically proven that increased screen time could undo many learning disciplines.
Self-regulation is also a key trait for e-learning to be effective, which is why e-learning has mainly caught on within the tertiary education realm, but not for younger children.
The learning time is significantly shorten from 1hr45mins to 20mins and i believe the quality will not be as good as having a teaching guiding.
Their decisions have to be founded in defensible rationales that would benefit our children. And if they intend to implement HBL, it is not fair for parents to still paying full fees but with only a 20mins lesson and no teacher guiding..
It is unreasonable for the school to not refund parents the money or expect parents to pay full fee but parents are the ones teaching instead with limited 20mins home base learning.

Home based e learning doesnt really work for younger students hence the school should not treat it as one for one replacement from the normal class based learning.

Berries should consider a solution that is helpful to students and parents. Options other than hbl and hbl with discount should be made available. The discount should be immediate instead of voucher for future use.

I dont pay so much to let my kids to have HBL for 3 lessons and the HBL duration is cut by 1/4. Berries should refund the 3 lessons money. Your lessons are not cheap.

Agree with the refund upfront. We do not intend to continue classes in the second term, how to even get back the so called refund/ rebate then?

Understd the situation that Berries go through, i dont request refund but just that they can allow us to extend that 3 lessons to be replaced after the suspension is over and when kids are safe to go back to berries. Online is not conducive and homes with many siblings & children cannot utilise this method effectively at all. Appreciate this simple request can be heard.

We can understand the situation but please also understand why we choose berries in the first place. If we have the capabilities or capacity to teach the kids would we spend that kind of money?as a adult can you sit through a whole session of elearning and be guided by your parents??

My child is only N1 and the HBL is not helping her at all due to the short attention span at this age. their HBL is not helpful at all.

Online e-learning does benefit the children, compared to nothing. But not to replace actual classes. Should refund.

It’s not fair to charge us so much for online lessons. I’m sure berries get some help from the government as well. So why are they not passing the savings to us?
