they backed down and dropped the charge. im honestly so glad they listened to reason instead of trying to tax a charity for saving lives.

A simple message to the IOM government and the DED that anyone signing this petition will refuse to buy any TT merchandise unless the DED reconsider their oafish attempt to extort £250 from a charity that provides a FREE vital service to the Island. Absolute Disgrace!

What a farce this is! I understand the need to protect the TT IP (can I use 'TT' or do I need to pay?!) but you are clearly slapping the wrong establishments, you could have set president by charging them £250 and then donate £250 back to them or donate the takings of your next dress down day. Get a grip and let's just hope you don't need rescuing from the sea this year!

The volunteers risk their lives for no financial gain the least the government could do is let them use the logo to raise vital funds

Going to visit brother on isle of White. People over there are always asking for TT stuff. Certainly will not be taking anything this year!

Bad idea from DED, I have bought these badges ever since they were first started. I have enough tt embleme gear so if this charge goes ahead I will boycott all future tt emblem merchandise. (ps I put tt in lower case just so I could avoid any charge from DED for using their emblem...)

I don't suppose the DED will give a hoot if I buy any merchandise or not but to attempt to make profit from an organisation which exists entirely on donations and grants saving dozens of lives every year is disgraceful.

Hope when he's got the money that he's going to put straight back in an RNLI collection box, and hope that he never needs the RNLI for himself or any of his family, just remember we live on an island surrounded by water.
