The Salvation Army and the Bourne Rotary club have even started a new Community band, they and visiting bands would love a bandstand. Many people have stated they are willing and would supply free or at cost price all the materials and services we need to have it built among the Willow trees surrounding the river Eau in the centre of town. Please sign the petition if you agree to Bourne having its own bandstand in the memorial gardens managed by Bourne United Charities. This land is for the residents of Bourne and surrounding areas as an amenity and to supply the people with pleasant open space.

The level of public interest in the Bourne Jubilee Bandstand has surpassed my initial expectations. It is clear that the people of this town are eager to see the memorial gardens host live music again. Your commitment provides the necessary foundation as we engage with the relevant authorities.

In my opinion the Memorial Gardens is definitely NOT the appropriate place for such a structure. There are other ares, e.g. The Wellhead Park or Recreation Ground, that would be much more suitable for this. I also think that only opinions from Bourne residents should be considered in this petition.
The brass bands already play there so this would be excellent and ideal for other performances in the Gardens.
Bourne desperately needs a bandstand not only for the brilliant brass bands that come to bourne but for all the other wonderful musicians aspiring and otherwise! yes we need a bandstand here!!!

This would be amazing, I think of the times I head to hunstanton and sit around the band stand listening to local musicians and alike.
