It's a Dam. If you want the safety of a life guard go to the swimming pool at the leisure center or the pool in Beinfait.

A heartbreaking situation....I have always been afraid of this happening.....but how do you explain to your 12 year old they need a life jacket to go swimming...you shouldn't have to. I do think at least one lifeguard would help prevent another family going through such pain

I did not know this child but my heart breaks for the family. I hated that damn for swimming when my children were small there's a drop off and it's been there for 40 years that I know of that beat I feel it's actually dangerous, and if I was putting money out for something for people of this area lifeguards for the highlight ours is a definite must

There should be lifeguards in place if it's a designated swimming area definitely. Too many lives lost! So sad

Definitely need lifeguards but I think barriers being put up are just as important if not more important,

Yes it's needed a lifeguard or two during swimming day light hours but what about the people who think drinking and beach time at nught is a fun thing? ?? Life jackets NEED to be a MUST and rcmp and parks people need to monitor underage drinkers by water too

least there will be a qualified person if something does happen. It is a provincial park and this should be in place now.
