Open data access is a basic feature, I don't expect companies to resort to this old way of doing things to keep users locked in.

Locking "my data" into the Bosch universe instead of letting me choose how to deal with it is a barrier for purchasing any bike with Bosch motor. Use open protocols and respect your customers' choice.
