I was supervised as a MA-level summer intern by Dr. Zucker and Dr. Blanchard for 4 months during the mid 90s as part of my clinical psychology MA program. Both were excellent supervisors. In my time at the GIC, I witnessed absolutely nothing that would give rise to the accusations levelled at Dr. Zucker. NOTHING. I am enormously grateful for this opportunity to publicly speak out in support of Dr. Zucker. I wholeheartedly support the position of the petitioners. These accusations are, quite frankly, malicious nonsense. And they should have been treated as such.

I worked with Dr. Zucker as an intern in clinical psychology at CAMH in 2009. In my experience, he always kept the needs of his clients first and foremost, above any gender politics that may interfere with best practice. The closing of the Gender Identity Clinic is based on poor public perception and miscommunication, not empirical evidence nor compassion for those families who are looking for support.
