BMK residents Against Reducing Ski Area in Sunset Lagoon

The ski run is used by hundreds of households, and on a busy day, it is extremely dangerous due to no written rules of engagement (e.g. waiting your turn, and not driving behind skiers). This must be rescinded, or this petition must turn into a recall petition of whoever is responsible on the board.

Disappointing that the community board is willing to just cave to a vocal minority without communicating with the broader community.

Wide angle, I agree that the process was not as transparent as it should have been. On a narrower focus, shortening the ski run will have significant impact in wear and tear on many of our docks and shoreline. Finally, I feel the safety concerns are well-founded. Let’s reverse this decision, and re-address the matter as an open dialogue.

Let’s use Democracy when we make decisions for our community.

The petition is an accurate summary of the events and the potential consequences. I respect the board for volunteering their time to support the community but many were very disappointed in the decision making process.

Take votes from all residents of the Sunset lagoon.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Using the current area for skiing is imperative. If there is such a huge decision to be made there should be a thorough process.

Who rushed this through without proper and fair community involvement?

Shorter is more crowded and more dangerous. It should be lenghthed.

Soon boats won’t be allowed in BMK - not the direction BMK community needs to take.

This is the first time I have heard about this, and just finished reading the Neighbor to Neighbor newsletter that includes a good reminder for boaters, but also a map of existing waterways. I am appalled at this decision, as it effects everyone including North Lagoon as they will likely see a large increase in boat traffic.

We were in the dark about this issue until now.

This is a ridiculous shortening of the boat route. I have never seen it like this in the past 23 years that my family has lived here. I don’t believe it’s safe as well

The proposed change is ridiculous.
