I think that they should be aloud to have prom! Its one of the highlights of their High school year, why ruin their fun because of some stupid idiots!! Let them just have their prom!! Even if you don't have an after party! You guys could still have the prom!

With all due respect Mr. Coady, prom should not be cancelled due to last year's experience. Heightened expectations perhaps, but I still remember singing at our prom with fond memories. Prom is a rite of passage and all students should not be penalized for the actions of a few.

As a Bluefield grad back in the day, the memories of prom are as vivid today as they were 28 years ago - still puts a smile on my face. Don't take that from the grads of 2016.

They deserve a prom! Strict rules should be put in place but taking away prom from innocent students who did nothing wrong is unfair.

It's not fair to punish this year's grads for what a few troublemakers did last year. Prom is a rite of passage, a milestone and a celebration of graduation. Some schools have changed the timing of prom (e.g., earlier in spring) which might be better than not having it at all.

It's unfortunate that such measures are going to be taken over a handful of trouble makers. I'm sure there are compromises that can make it work, so students will not miss out on such a memorable time in their lives. I still have great memories of my prom at Bluefield.
