BLOOM EDUCATION - BRIGHTON COLLEGE PARENT PETITION - TERM 3 SCHOOL FEES 2020

Hi. I have lost my job at the outset of the corona virus. I have 2 children at BCAD. Please reduce the fees for term 3 to help parents like me.

With job cuts - we hope Bloom can discount the school fees to alleviate the financial hardship.

I’ll be very grateful that all the fees collected go to teachers and staff; but what about the savings from reduced utility usage, stationery, arts supplies etc? Shouldn’t parents get compensated for the unused facilities and utilities ?

Must reduce by 50% as most of the people have lost their job or took a pay cut nothing will happen to school if they dont make profits for sometime Government should stand with the parents rather with school most of the school are business centres here

Fellow parents and school community We support this petition on the basis that the school should not retain savings it makes due to not being open. We estimate the cost reduction to the school this semester would be approximately 10% of budget for the semester and this cost reduction should be returned to parents by a 10% discount on semester fees. My husband has worked in the education sector and confirms that 10% would be typical of operating cost savings in this situation as many other costs are ongoing. Under no circumstances do we wish to avail of a greater discount if this is based on terminating staff or reducing teacher salaries. We need our teachers to stay motivated and even though e-Learning is not perfect BCAD e-learning is better than many schools and our teachers are working harder than ever before. We also would not want a higher discount based on terminating TAs. We only suggest BCAD return to parents a discount equal to any savings it achieves because of the school closure. We are all in this together and BCAD needs to show that as well as being a business we are a community.

A reduction would be fair based on all the expenses school is not incurring. Thanks for your consideration

It’s so unacceptable at this stage and worries about Corona infection and blooms want to make profit ! ENS has removed the school fees all together why not you?

Unless you are telling us 100percent of fees goes to only teachers then the school has no case.

Fees no longer justify their costs

It would be good if the school can pass on the variable cost savings to parents without harming the livelihood of all teaching and non teaching staff. In addition, for parents who have been made redundant or taken pay cuts, to waive the term 3 fees in a case to case basis.

We are all in it together. Other schools have given discounts on the term fee and it would be fair for ours to do so too.

I fail to understand when many if not all other schools have already made the honorable and compassionate decision to implement discounts, why Brighton college has not stepped up to the plate to alleviate the financial burden and mental stress for many parents.

Please reduce term fee.

Now is not the time to being making profit at the expense of others.
