My campaign is to collect enough names on my petition to make a difference and to try and influence the Government to fund the setting up, collection and maintenance of facilities to enable women to have their babies umbilical cords frozen for future use and for free instead of them just being disposed of.
At the moment in this country you have to pay privately to have the cord frozen and stored and it costs quite a lot of money.
The umbilical cords are very important to everyone, you may be ill yourself, have an ill relative or someone you know that needs a bone marrow transplant and an umbilical cord donation could save their life; my life was saved in September 2005 with a bone marrow transplant using a frozen and stored umbilical cord from a baby in Barcelona
just saw we hit 500 signatures which is honestly amazing. i cant believe so many people care about this as much as i do. lets keep this momentum going.

im honestly blown away by how many people are backing this and seeing so many of you connect with why these cords are so vital really gets me. this momentum shows people are finally listening and i am so ready to keep pushing until everyone can access this for free.

Total waste of resources to just bin them when they could be used for transplants. Fix this already.

Should not be just for the rich to afford. Health care is suppose to be for everyone.

This is such a big deal. My cousin had cancer and we looked into this but it was way too expensive. Every baby should be able to help someone else out.

Why throw away something that could literally save a life? Makes no sense at all. This needs to be free for everyone.
