What are we not understanding about red tide and how it is influenced by all this development?

It’s bad enough already without this. I wish it could be green space or a Park - it would add so much to the community.

Too big, too much density in an area of our fair city that can ill afford the scale and scope of this proposed project.

there is room for growth without over the top congestion...congestion is what makes a place UNDESIRABLE.

Even without this development there are frequent grid-lock traffic situations in season. It is irresponsible and dangerous to add to the congestion in this area.

Keep & enforce or expand the rules. They were there for good reason. Consider the simple water use/misuse that is unsustainable today, let alone the increases this presents! Please support Sarasota’s future!

Not until the intersection and corresponding roadways are completely redesigned, and the density is reduced significantly. We do not need more sprawl!

WHY IN OUR BACKYARD?
The proposed Benderson's Siesta Promenade will do more harm than good. The community will suffer from congestion and increased traffic snarls.
Developers may call it 'inevitable progress' and but in truth, it is not.
Please build elsewhere.

I'm a Gulf Gate resident and I cannot believe there is even a discussion of making that intersection worse than it already is. It's ridiculous that the county would approve this proposal when the Stickney Point Bridge is already completely inundated and gridlocked for at least half the year. Putting more homes and shops at that intersection will make it incredibly more difficult for visitors from I-75 and South Sarasota to access Siesta Key. Not to mention, the residents in this area - the people who keep our businesses running FOR tourists - will suffer terribly from the additional traffic. Please make a decision based on logic and not on money, for once. Block this and instead use the land for a public access park, additional parking for Siesta, etc.

This space, and particularly the location, are not suitable for a development of this size and scope.

This will cause huge traffic problems at an intersection that's already a nightmare. Do no re-zone!
