Less development, more green space. This is one of the stupidest things the county has proposed since they tore down the Lido Casino in the 60s. Listen to the people, not the money!!!!

Benderson’s Siesta Promenade will be a traffic nightmare for Siesta Key and local residents. We have had a family condo on Siesta Key since 1971. My husband and I are considering selling. The traffic has been horrible — taking us sometimes hours to get on and off the key. Sarasota is being exploited. We need to keep the character of the key and say no. These developers take gambles on investments. This gamble they should lose. Buy the land and make the area a much needed park.

I've lived on Siesta Key for 31 years. Presently winter traffic is terrible. Takes 45 min.+ to get home from Rt. 41 during winter from the South Bridge. Normally it takes 10 min. The increase of 8300+ vehicles they say will cross the bridge daily is unfathomable & should be unacceptable. The accidents will increase. I know because I was rear ended on the South Bridge. Stop this insane development.

As a resident of Sarasota I am against this project. We already have many issues with traffic and this will make things worse. This will also create more challenges and issues on the event we have an evacuation emergenc. Please do not allowed this petition.

This plan is so ridiculous!! During peek season you may wait for 3 to 4 light changes. In my opinion this is all about money for Benderson Development and I'm definitely against this plan!!!!

Increase in density with both housing and retail structures. Major impact on surrounding roadways already overcrowded. Creating a dangerous situation for traffic evacuation from Siesta Key.

This intersection is already a nightmare off season. During season the intersection headed west to the bridge can back up 45-60min. We really do not need more apartments packed into Sarasota. There has already been thousands of new units added east of 75, next to Lowe’s in Fruitville Rd and on Cattleman at Colonial Oaks. We do not have the infrastructure to support this and yet they keep building. The water table at Stickney Point cannot support this either. Please try to fill all the apartments built this year that are standing vacant before adding more!! And we do not need another strip mall on 41!! Make it a park!!! Community center!! Something beneficial to Sarasota, not one builders pockets.

The problem here is the bottleneck created by the South Bridge to Siesta. Greater density/intensity at this site cannot be dispersed with a grid because the cars are all heading to the same bottleneck - the bridge on to Siesta. How about creating affordable housing here and backing off Mr. Benderson? Many remember the affordable housing your promised and reneged on at UTC. What do you say?

Traffic at this intersection is already too heavy. Allowing this development will only make a bad situation worse, and it will negatively impact the resident of the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as Sarasota in general. In the past 20 years politicians have allowed developers to destroy Sarasota, which now looks like an upscale version of St. Petersburg. When will all the development end - when no one wants to live here anymore. Traffic in season is already a nightmare and real estate prices are through the roof. How much has Benderson paid the County Commissioners to get this project approved. Quit prostituting yourselves to the developers who are ruining Sarasota!!!
