On the entrance to our beautiful Siesta we need a lovely park, fountains perhaps parking and buses running to alleviate traffic. That intersection is backed up in all directions. I only go to the beach before sunrise-- Come on-- Build a beautiful entrance to our Siesta jewel.

I support this petition 1000% and will attend the meetings. Benderson recently bought the 33 Acre Southgate Mall off Siesta Dr., School Ave , US 41 and Bee Ridge US 758 (adjacent to the Single family Southgate neighborhood )and they need an amendment to change City zoning from Retail only to Mixed use for their project (25 -35 and possibly up to 50 Units per acre) of Mixed use zoning of Retail, business and Housing that they supposedly have no design plan for because of existing Mall leases.

Why aren’t commisioners holding developers like Benderson to produce infrastural plans that will alleviate, not, exacerbate the traffic headaches we incur almost every day.

Just noticed today (7/22/19) that they have marked off the area for demolition. Markers around trees to be removed, dust barriers, and there was a crew starting to clear the area around the old chimney. It's starting. I'm very much against the development..I visit the park almost daily.

The community as a whole of Sarasota does not need housing in the area of stickbey ot rd and us 41 as there is already way to much congestion and people constantly blocking the box already. Getting in and off the island is a hazard at this point, concerning around hurricane season might I add...so having anything else adding to that mess is pure idiocy. There’s plenty of open land elsewhere that will have better opportunity bc it won’t be so on top of everything else.
