They need to build the plant in a different location, away from residential areas!

I believe this proposed idea will not be good for my neighborhood, nor the surrounding area. Asphalt bears a strong smell, and aside from the toxicity of the chemicals, the odor alone is enough to cause problems. Specifically for me, it is a migraine trigger, guaranteed each time I catch the odor. I do not want this plant near my home. Thank you.

I greatly oppose the building an Asphalt Plant on Weddington Rd. or close by. There are plenty of rural places that this can be built! It doesn't belong in a residential area!!

There is no reason for this to be so close to a neighborhood, school, children, families.

That's the last thing we need in this neighborhood. I see no need for one located near such a large area of homes and schools. DON'T LET THEM PUT IT HERE.

Very concerned with emissions, noise, traffic from trucks, dust and damage to our property values.

Is it not enough we have to smell the Dump but now we have to inhale toxins from an asphalt plant.

Diane, did you consider the nearby quarry, racetracks (3 of them), waste landfill, airport and tractor trailer distribution center when deciding to purchase a home in the immediate area? Do you sincerely believe that a plant on an existing commercial property that will be setback and buffered from adjacent roads and neighborhoods is going to have a dramatic impact on the value of your home?

The Riverwalk neighborhood is located 1.25 miles from a waste landfill run by Republic waste services. Located 1.0 miles away is the Concord Regional Airport. The airport serves general aviation aircraft, corporate, military and government air service 24/7 and commercial airline flights 4 days a week. A third commercial route was just added in May of 2014 increasing commercial air traffic in and around the airport. Planes such as the Airbus A-320 twin-jet and McDonald Douglas MD-83 twin-jet use the airport as are serviced by Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Riverwalk is located 0.9 miles from Interstate 85 with a daily traffic volume of approximately 95,000 vehicles. The Riverwalk neighborhood also lies 0.85 miles from Charlotte Motor Speedway which hosts a multitude of motor vehicle events throughout the year including the 3 major NASCAR races. The neighborhood is also adjacent to a commercial truck (tractor trailer) distribution center now serving the Walmart Corporation. Approximately 20 residential lots share the property line with the active commercial site. Lastly, the neighborhood adjoins the Martin Marietta aggregate quarry with approximately 42 residential lots sharing the property line. The waste landfill, airport, speedway, interstate, quarry and distribution center with all of their sound, light and air "pollution" along with the associated air and vehicle traffic existed before the Riverwalk neighborhood was ever constructed. Since the development of the neighborhood the ZMax Dragway has also been constructed, just 0.29 miles away. Any argument that the introduction of a production plant serving the critical infrastructure needs of the growing Concord community is somehow going to upset the tranquil neighborhood environment that now exists is a farce and an exaggeration.
If traffic is your argument consider that the Riverwalk neighborhood includes the Carl A. Furr Elementary School with its daily school congestion including cars a

There is no place for this plant near so many residential homes, a school and the Dog park and Greenway that the City has paid to put in. Not to mention all the hotels in that area.

This proposed Asphalt plant seems to be near some neighborhoods. Do we really want it near an elementary school?
