No I do not want the asphalt plant near my home. We already have a stench from the nearby dump.

Keep this away from our kids and families. We do not need it in our neighborhood.

The smell of hot asphalt has always mad me nausea . This propossed plant lies directly SW 1 1/2 mi. from us and the Prevailing winds are always from the SW. Please -Please put this somewhere away from people. There are plenty of vacant places still around. This is awful.

it is just downwind of us and we would smell it and get contaminants in the air in our yard

This is so uncalled for, especially with many other areas being less dense, if we have to have it at all in Cabarrus County. This is not a life or death decision to have this facility anywhere in this county.

It is essential that we all attend the meeting next Monday in Concord. We must let our concerns be heard by our elected officials. Our children and the elderly are in real danger.

I am extremely sensitive to the smell of asphalt being poured to the point of always driving with the air in my car being recirculated to avoid as much of it as I can. I also used to have to use an experimental form of desensitation to formaldehyde to try to prevent migraines. This sounds like my worst nightmare.

Curious as to what it's like to be near an asphalt plant? If you've ever enjoyed a meal at R&R Barbecue on Weddington Rd then you were the exact same distance from an asphalt plant as Martin Marrietta's proposed plant would be to the closest residential lot in the Riverwalk neighborhood. More than likely it never crossed your mind because you didn't recognized any foul smell and there was no noticeable audible difference with busy streets, an airport and an interstate all in the same vicinity. If you've driven along Poplar Tent Rd. near the airport runway or driven along I-85 near the I-77 interchange in Charlotte then you've been within 300 feet of operating asphalt plants and I bet it never crossed your mind. If you've ever driven along Hwy 29 near UNCC or Mallard Creek Church Rd in that same area then you've been within 1/3 of a mile of an asphalt plant. That same production plant is less than 1/2 mile from the PNC Music Pavilion Amphitheater where many of you have probably enjoyed tailgating and concerts and you never knew the difference.

I think it's ridiculous that Martin Marietta would even consider putting this plant so close to our neighborhood. It seems to be about the money and not what is important to the homeowners and our health, not to mention the smell it will create that we would be dealing with. We have a school in this neighborhood with many children who would also be affected by this plant.

We just bought this lovely home. I do not want my children to be subject to such poison.
I know people who have kids with asthma who live close by; the air pollution could cause them to suffer and possibly kill them.
Please reconsider this location.
