Cabarrus County and the City of Concord should not remotely consider dropping an industrial operation such as this right in the middle of where families live and work. There is plenty of other land thought the county as options. Dump trucks blowing up and down Weddington and Pitt School roads with school traffic and local residents is a tragedy waiting to happen. The long term effects of locating these industrial plants next to residential communities is going to come back on the county. Take for example the tire recycling plant on Pitt School road or then Asphalt plant adjacent to it. Both complete eye soars. I ask that the county/city begin to look more strategically and longer term when making these decisions. Pitt School and Weddington roads are not equipped to handle that consistent traffic and the weight of the trucks and vehicles that would come and go. There is a place for Martin Marietta, just not right in the middle of our residential communities. Lastly, the county/city will shoot themselves in the foot on property value growth. This type of decision would stifle property values compared to all surrounding communities and counties.

Asphalt plants should located in strip mined areas and not near schools.

The school in question is named for my father and he would be opposed to this project. We are for progress, but against harmful and possible polutants.

This is right next to a school. I am sure there is a less populated area that could accommodate this plant. We already have to contend with the Bruton Smith's businesses. You are making it really difficult to like staying in Concord.
