GEMS finally backed down and agreed to the blanket fee reduction. They tried to frame us as charity cases but we forced them to respect our position as paying customers. Stay vigilant to ensure they actually apply the credits to our accounts without any more games.

Your Means-Test Approach is unfair and this Relief Fund offer seems just like a sugar-coated Charity.
Pls understand we are Paying parents of the school and don’t want to be philanthropic cases.
1. People are being made redundant or sent on unpaid leave everyday. Therefore it’s
not a question of who is able to pay or not today,it’s a tough time financially for almost all.
2. At the beginning of the term, we signed-up to pay the full fee against a fully functioning school and all its facilities.
3. If due to circumstances the school has to resort to distance learning then a full school fees is simply unjustified and the E-Learning platform is definitely not worth the price. It is known world-wide that Distance learning charges lower fees than the on-site education.
4. If so many other schools are able to offer blanket discount to their entire school and look after their staff, we fail to understand why Gems is incapable of doing the same
5. Also getting constant reminders from school to pay or the distance learning will be disrupted for the students is really upsetting and adding to the current stressful circumstances
It is dissapointing to note that though we all are called the Gems/Winchester school family but in a time of crisis the school is being stingy in offering assistance to all and should not merely do ‘pick and choose’
It is also very disheartening to see Gems touting their charity efforts in front of parents, instead of stepping up to understand the reality of the situation.
Looking forward to a quick response so we can too pay the fees as required.

GEMS management keeps hiding behind their insulting relief fund while ignoring the reality that we are paying for facilities our children cannot even touch. Their silence is cowardice and their threats to cut off access for our kids prove they care more about profit than the people who keep their doors open.

It is now a matter of ethics that GEMS shall apply since parents spent more time to teach kids and your platform and operational finances and support are limited. Reduction shall be reflected in 3rd term.
Pls. undrestand our situation.I dont have job, and my husband is working in the hotel. Its totally closed. company sent a memo saying there is no salary till August. Pls small consideration.Thank you.
The request for doscount , is a fare right for the parents as the schools Isn't going to pay the same utility bills and may also be getteing a rent relief from the Nakheel group, they are also not considering that the fees we pay includes their profits, so they want everyone to suffer and they don't even lost a bit of their profits .
Being mother of two children, i can understand how much pressure has been increased on kids and parents. As we are sharing the pressure from the school and working hard to help our kids get the maximum benifit out of this new system, Gems should consider giving some share of this patent's hard work.
There should be a standard across the board fee reduction, not just for the parents impacted due to Covid 19. The reduction is sought as a fair reciprocal to the reduction in school facilities.
Is not fair to charge full fee if school immunities are not used. They have to provide discounts.

Onsight and distance learning cannot be compared, fee structure has to be reduced for distance learning program, parents along with teachers are making efforts to make distance learning a success, so parents have to be rewarded in the form of reduced fees. Even the worldwide universities have separate fees for on-sight and distance learning courses
