I think this lake is a nice place to bring your family and let the kids swim in the pool and fish and boat rides.. I think that the lake should stay as it always has been..

How is it that our poorest counties take the biggest cuts. Shame on all our politicians for robbing the poor to give to rich. With the money that has been made from coal in McDowell the people there should be the richest instead they are the poorest. This speaks volumes about the political corruption in our state. O and people are paying attention nationally. Each of you should take the time to see something gets done right. Politics in this state is embarrassing to its citizens.

As a young bride & new Mom, my husband brought me Home to his Beloved WV Mountains and Valleys!!!! I was NEVER SO AWESTRUCK & AMAZED @ THE MAGESTY & PEACE I SOON LEARNED TO LOVE & LIVE IN!!! We bought our first house on Tennessee Ave. in Caretta, WV then moved to Amonate, WV (I believe it was known on the tax maps as Faraday) We lived in McDowell County from June 1973 through January 1990. And we have never truly left our Home Place!!! Many of the memories I have of this SPECIAL REGION is the LOVE & PRIDE OF THEIR SPECIAL PART OF HEAVEN IN SOUTHERN MCDOWELL COUNTY!!! IF IT WEREN'T FOR MY HUSBAND'S FIGHT WITH CANCER CURRENTLY WE WOULD BE RIGHT ON THE FRONT LINE FIGHTING TO PRESERVE OUR BELOVED RECREATIONAL AREA AROUND BERWIND.

I would like to go on record as believing that "THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME" and that is Caretta, WV and southern McDowell County!!!! Although I currently live in NW GA ... I consider WV my true & spiritual HOME!!! I am currently battling Colo-Rectal Cancer, and if not being unable to travel RIGHT NOW, I would come up there to By those Country Roads that lead me HOME!!! PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS RECREATIONAL AREA AWAY!!! PAYING IT FORWARD FOR ALL THE WONDERFUL MEMORIES WE HAVE FROM UP THERE!!!!

Why take something like this away from the people who need it most?
