We need the recreation area for all of our children and adults that love to go there, this is the only and closest lake and pool in our area here in the War district. A lot of people cannot travel to other places to go fishing, hiking, and take their children to the pool. Please reconsider keeping it open.!!!

This pool and park is an important resource to people in this area. Without this park, children here will have nothing to do during the summer seeing as many parents here don't have the money to travel to Panther or Welch. Taking away this resource would be yet another devastating nail added in McDowell County's coffin.

McDowell County coal has contributed massively to state coffers and it is long past the time for the state reciprocate in kind. A good place to begin is by fully restoring all services to Berwind Lake and to remember that southern WV does not end at the Raleigh County line.

Please fund the Berwind Park. This is the only recreation facility in that area. I have spent many wonderful times at this park for years. We still have our family reunion there. Thank you!!!!

This lake has been a family and community gathering spot forever I'm outraged that yet again something else that is so very important to all of us is essentially being destroyed. Let's face it there is little left in our Big Creek district basically this beautiful Lake and our community DO NOT deserve for this to be taken away shorted with budget cuts. The preservation of all that Our Lake offers has always offered needs an increased budget!!!!! This is yet another historical landmark that clearly will be abolished with nowhere for us to go. It is a safe haven for those of us that may reside in another state but make the trek back to our hometown of War WV to visit our lake year round... what are you thinking..... You didn't make our high school an historical landmark instead you tossed it to the curb and decided to bus these kids a good 2 hour drive one way for an education.... AND NOW THIS.....
PATHETIC DECISIONS YET AGAIN...STOP THE MADNESS THE BIG CREEK DISTRICT DOES COUNT!!!!!!!
GET OFF OF THE IVORY TOWER AND MAKE THINGS RIGHT....NO MORE LOSSES FOR WAR WEST VIRGINIA!!!!!!!

You need not cut corners in an area that brings happiness and good times to families of this region. Cut something else if the need to cut is there. People preach for us to do outdoor activities to keep healthy but you are taking away that opportunity. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

Berwind Lake was the only recreation available when I was growing up. The youth of today need a wholesome place to gather and explore nature. Please give them that chance! Thanks!

While this is a state facility, the impact on the local residents is far greater than the few dollars closing the facility saves.
