Please keep our pool and picnic tables open. We as a family have had birthday parties and family gatherings at Berwind Lake for the past 23 years, we would love to be able to continue this tradition with our future generations. Thank you.

Where did all the fundin. For the 10 acre lot at Panther sate forest for a elk lot come from ? The funding for elk should be second to an already established park that can be enjoyed by many people now instead of elk that more than likely in 10 years not one of the county residents are going to be able to draw a elk tag because their pockets aren't deep enough. Doesn't make sense to close a area that so many enjoy now and start another project that has such a non enjoyable impact on the area. What are we gonna do load up and go stare at elk in a fenced lot. Yep real enjoyable .

I think the everything should be left the way it is.. If the closing is due to fundings for work I would make the inmates of Mcdowell county do the work in the pool and cut the grass and due all the upkeep on the lake.. I don't think we should just pay for them to sit in jail and do nothing that's what they want.. I'd make them get out and work clean the county up...They have a free place to sleep and eat an don't have to work that's a shame they should work for it..

This is not fair to our children.
The children will suffer the most. We get something good and the big shots try to take it. For once think about the children and not lining your pockets.

Please find the funds to keep our park open. . We've already lost our high school please don't take our park. We don't want to be left with just our past memories we want to continue making future memories with our family, friends and classmates.

I grew up here and this lake was a great place to come. I loved walking through the woods from the lake to the pool. There are already so few things for the kids to do. Don't take these away due to budget cuts.
