This beautiful piece of my past must be saved. I have so many memories of my family, neighbors, and friends spending time at Berwind Lake. It is one of our special places back home that we took pride in.

This is the only recreational, nice meeting place for picnic and events this poor community has. Please find a way to ensure it stays viable for the community. They take pride in the lake. Thank you.
Former resident and still enjoy the lake when I come home.

This community used to be full of beauty and wonder. The only thing we have left is our magnificent Berwind Lake. It is like our own little rabbit hole, as in Alice in Wonderland. When you are there it is as if you've been transported to another world. A world filled with God's beauty and splendor. It is a place young and old, new and native, can go to escape from the rough edges of this county. People from all over the map have come to specifically enjoy this wonderful place. God has gifted us this lake and it would be an injustice to not only this county, this state our faithful visitors, but to God himself to give up on Berwind Lake!

Please protect full funding for Berwind Lake that impacts the pool, the shelters, and park maintenance. The people of McDowell County have lost enough. Don't take this from them too. Berwind Lake is not just a park to these people. It represents countless good memories for a community that the rest of the country chooses to forget.

I think this is a crazy idea taking the pool and camping areas!!! Gives the younger generation another excuse to be on the streets as if this place ain't dead enough nothing to do around here and now this just puts icing on the cake!!!
