Many communities and children rely on the use of this facility. There is so little recreation available to residents of McDowell County. Please do not make the proposed changes. Thanks!

There are many people in and out of our county that uses this park. If a lifeguard, lessons, and organized swimming, the pool would have a lot more traffic. Please save the facilities at Berwind.

Many fond memories of Berwind Lake. Would be so heartbreaking to see this recreational venue closed.

We all have been to the lake for some reason or another. It is a beautiful place. We do not want to lose it.

I live in NC, I always stop by berwind when I visit family in WV. I proposed to my wife on the bridge of berwind lake. It should stay a place where families can come together.

Please reconsider and keep funds available for the beautiful piece of "almost heaven". Every time I come back to WVfrom FL, I make sure I spend time here...my special place.

Nothing to do for the children in McDowell County and now the only summer recreation for many will be gone.

Coal mining is no longer a viable economy in McDowell County and eventually in all of West Virginia. Despite the raping and pillaging of the state's natural beauty for timber, coal and gas, there are pockets of natural beauty that are stunning and Berwind Lake is stunning. Why not use or allow it to be used as an economic recreational resource and preserve its beauty.

I was born, raised and educated in War, WV.. The lake is all the people living there have left in a town that is literally dying due to the coal industry working out... Please.. The people still living there have been stripped of most everything that was good and wonderful about my hometown.. The demise of Big Creek High in itself is a tragedy all its own... The nearest hospitals and doctors care are a burden to most people living there... Now to want to take away something that people enjoy..use..and need is a horrible injustice to those still living there... The kids will have nothing to do or anyplace to go..why continue to tear down a community that wants and needs this lake.. Doing away with this recreational area will be like driving one more nail in the coffin of a town that is hanging on by a thread... Don't be the ones who are responsible for the death of this town.. My friends and family there need this to stay open.. Thank you.

We need this lake and all it offers for the children in the area we have taken our little league and tee ball team to the pool at the end of our season for a party and to give them there trophy. we hope to take the boy scout and cub scouts troup 875 to the camp grounds for camping and hiking this spring and summer. we have family outings at the park and picnic area and also birthday parties I hope you decide to keep the pool, park and camp grounds open
