As residents of Woodbine, we frequently travel and use the North Main/460 interchange. It is perhaps the most most dangerous place I have ever had to enter a highway besides a few in third world countries where I have visited. The design needs to be done correctly. There are people's lives at stake with this decision.

The citizens do not want the R-cut. At least 3 people have died here! No more, PLEASE!!

The cross depicted in the right hand side of this screen, is in memory of a person who lost their life in this intersection. Not far from there, there are flowers hung, for another life lost. This is an extremely dangerous area, it needs to change, no more lives need to be lost here.

Please consider the unreasonable danger you are creating at coal bank hollow and fortress rd by moving uturns to that area.

I lost a best friend due to this intersection. Something must be done.

R-Plan would have cars from N. Main taking a right and U-turning at Coal Bank. This would be more dangerous as it would be farther up a steep hill.

A former student of mine was killed at this intersection years ago. Please consider a safer alternative. The number of people who will have to take a U-turn to get back on 460 East will certainly cause further injuries, if not worse. If trucks are in the left lane going on 460 W, they will literally be unable to stop in time to avoid hitting vehicles waiting for their U-turn.

This intersection is too dangerous to solve with the R-cut plan. It was initially created by poor planning and now the needed money for the correct fix will just be wasted on this "poorly planned fix".

I don't understand why the CTB determined that it could spend millions of dollars upgrading the intersection at Southgate (which was already relatively safe because it had a stop light), but they just can't seem to come up with the funding necessary to upgrade this VERY dangerous intersection. The North Main/460 intersection is a major hazard, and it's clear that the CTB does not have the safety and well-being of local (and non-local) motorists in mind. The only solution to this problem is to construct a GRADE-SEPARATED interchange. Why spend $3 million on a plan that isn't even going to fix the problem, and will end up making it even worse? Build the grade-separated interchange and fix this problem once and for all!

We live on Brush Mountain West estates and drive by this intersection everyday. There is an accident almost every week at this place. Please don't put band aids on this problem but solve it for good.

It is utterly insane that the safety of the motorists on this road are not the top priority here. A grade-separated interchange is the only real solution to the very dangerous problem at this intersection. The ridiculous R-cut plan is only going to make matters worse.

The cheap fix is not the best long term investment. Fix it the right way!

IMHO Better to leave it as it is than to implement the R-cut which will make the intersection even more hazardous.

The R-cut plan is not a solution because it will simply relocate the problem and could conceivably make the situation even more dangerous.

How many lives have to be lost before this intersection is changed? As a parent to up and coming young drivers, and living at the Coal Bank Hollow intersection, I fear for my kids every time they get behind the wheel at this location. So VA Tech can get a new intersection that was NOT needed but the location where many people have died is enough to come up with the money? Shame on you Virginia, pray that your child never has to drive through here!

The R-cut plan will cause more deaths, as drivers will try to make u-turns on the 55 mph road. A grade separated interchange is the only safe alternative.

Drivers are coming done Brush mountain would have a difficult time stopping for traffic at Coal Bank intersection due to already hot brakes from long downhill. Unsafe idea.

As a resident of northern Blacksburg, I use this intersection twice a day commuting to and from work. An R-cut is not the solution, however the graded interchange voted by the town of Blacksburg is the solution. Please consider the needs and safety of the drivers and residents who use this busy intersection.

We just had an election where those in power failed to listen and were ousted. So now this on the state level.
