The longer a grade-separated intersection is delayed, the more brutal deaths will occur at this spot.

Interchange -yes. Safety-yes. R-cut -NO

This was handled very dishonestly. The residents trusted advice from VDOT and followed it, only for VDOT to change their stance on it.

As the town grows, a grade separated interchange makes a lot of sense for future expansion. The R cut option is an unsafe band-aid that will cost more money in the long run.

Save lives - fund the construction of a grade separated interchange at North Main Street and the U.S. 460 Bypass intersection ! ! !

I grew up on Farmingdale Lane. I have witnessed accidents at this intersection and was nearly rear ended several times trying to turn on to Farmingdale (even with a blinker and starting to break almost a half mile from the intersection). The fact that CBT is wanting to save money at the expense of residents lives is sickening! Not to mention the R-cut plan would hinder business at Farmingdale Stables. The closest SAFE intersection for a horse trailer or school bus to turnaround on would be at Pandapas pond. The R-cut would also cause longer response times for emergencies that may occur on Farmingdale Lane by forcing first responders to travel out of their way to U-turn. If the R-cut plan goes through all of the deciding members of the CBT/VDOT should be personally held responsible for any deaths that occur at Any of the nearby intersections. The gross negligence of the CBT/VDOT is ridicules

A U-turn halfway up the mountain would be more dangerous than the existing left-turn at the bottom.

I was going to have a fatal accident here, but I was lucky ... the road appeared very suddenly

This is long overdue and a separated interchange is the only real solution to this serious problem.

The R-cut plan is inadequate solution to this dangerous intersection and time would prove this. It would be throwing money down the toilet because eventually, when the R-cut proved inadequate, another design would have to be implemented. Our family avoids this intersection and wastes precious time doing an around about from Woodbine to the safer Tom's Creek interchange.

There are better and safer ways of fixing this intersection. Don't restrict people's everyday habits to save a few bucks.

I worry especially about teen drivers at this dangerous intersection who are unexperienced at judging distances and speeds - I have one driving and one about to drive....thank you for allowing input! :)

Worst intersection in Blacksburg. My kids are not allowed to drive through there, too dangerous!

We have lived near this intersection for nine years, and in that time we've seen many serious accidents, including at least two fatalities. This does not seem typical for a small-town road. I don't know why people have so much trouble with the center section, but they do. When our kids start driving, we will not let them take this route. That seems like a ridiculous accommodation for an intersection a mile and a half from our home.
