Demand A North Main Street/U.S. Route 460 Bypass Grade Separated Interchange

The R-cut is not an acceptable solution to the 460/North Main intersection. In addition to the many safety concerns of residents and others who regularly travel this route, the increased danger of the R-cut would also mean school buses will need to travel further west and make a U-turn to head east. Endangering the lives of children and others in the process is a strong indicator the R-cut is not an option. Also, emergency responders to nearby neighborhoods would need to travel an extra distance and make a U-turn to head east. When every second counts in an emergency, the current version of the R-cut is not a viable solution. Please don't waste more time, effort, and money on the R-cut. The safety of people is paramount at the 460/North Main intersection, and the R-cut, as it is now presented, is absolutely not a solution. Thank you.

This road is much busier than in the past and needs a safe and updated plan.

I was a Blacksburg resident for 21 years and I still visit my family in Blacksburg every month.

Too many people have been hurt or killed at this intersection. That alone should be enough reason to make it safer in a town full of so many young drivers.

I have already buried one friend because of this place. I don't want to have to bury any others, but this area is also growing too quickly to simply make it "right turn only."

The R-Cut plan is unwanted, unsafe, and will create more dangerous driving conditions in the area. Spending money on this is a ridiculous and unhelpful use of tax dollars.

This is a terrible intersection that needs help.

Please fix this intersection to allow the safest flow of traffic! Do not allow any more accidents or loss of life in this dangerous traffic pattern!

Please redirect the traffic pattern on north main and 460 in Blacksburg.

Please do something significant for this intersection. My child goes to school near here. My parents are older and always leave her school and drive to 460, then turning east. I have asked many times for them to not turn east. This intersection is not safe!

This intersection is a death-trap. Just drive through it a few times and you'll understand - not rocket science. We need a grade separated interchange to make the entry and exit to the North end of town safe!

PLEASE respect the many, many hours that have gone into a collaborative community effort to articulate the safest, most responsible solution to the traffic dangers at this intersection. The proposed "R-cut" "solution" is not adequate, and I think will actually be more dangerous than the current intersection. Please hear the voices of the people who drive this every day, and know the roads, the speeds, the curves, the mountains, and the true hazards.

As a resident of Farmingdale Lane, I urge you to abandon the R-cut. The only acceptable improvement to this intersection is a grade-separated interchange.

I've seen very terrible accidents at this interchange. The R-cut will only make it worse as tractor trailers and other large vehicles fly down Brush Mountain. On a map, this may look like a decent option, but when you are actually driving it, making a U turn in the proposed spot is terrifying when there is moderate traffic. Please, do the right thing, make this a safe interchange. A bandaid is not needed or wanted. It will only make it worse and will be wasted money. I don't want to see more needless injuries and deaths due to something that is fixable.

this has been a dangerous intersection for 3 years and increasing more so each day..month..year I "never" go through this intersection on 460 without having a careless person pull out in front of another vehicle
