I travel along this road every day to work, and I have seen the danger at the current intersection. The R-Cut plan is ridiculous and it will only move the danger a few hundred feet to the north, and make travel in the area even more complicated. Why waste the $3 million for a plan that isn't even going to work? Spend they money to actually FIX the problem with a grade-separated interchange! All of the other interchanges in Blacksburg on the 460 bypass are grade separated (as soon as Southgate is finished), so why can't this one be?

I travel through this intersection almost daily and hold my breath that I will not be involved in an accident like the multiple deadly ones I have seen over the years. A grade separated interchange is the only safe solution!

I strongly oppose the R-cut plan. It will simply move the danger further up the road and may create even more fatal accidents.

I frequently travel this intersection. It is particularly dangerous after dark or in inclement weather.

The choice of u-turns as an option is not realistic. The u-turn at Fortress is a completely choice, considering the trucks coming down a 1 mile steep hill in the opposite direction. Inclement weather will make this an even bigger safety risk.

My wife and I oppose the R-cut plan; we, too, know several individuals who have had serious accidents at his intersection.

I personally know people involved in 5 separate accidents at this intersection. They are all lucky to be alive and most had severe very painful injuries. They all had completely totaled automobiles. They were all following safe driving procedures. Some of them had their children in the automobile. Their crashes were caused by the inherent dangers of the inadequate infrastructure at this high speed intersection. Grade separated interchange is the only safe solution.

The R-cut is not an acceptable solution to this heavily used very dangerous intersection. Look at the statistics on crashes at this intersection. Look at the volume of traffic traveling to and from North Main that uses this intersection. A grade separated interchange is the only safe solution and it is needed as soon as possible for the safety of our citizens and those traveling through this area. A left turn from North Main onto 460 East is a death trap. The exit ramp onto North Main from 460 West is much too short to be safe - it is not long enough to allow for safe deceleration and is not long enough for the amount of traffic that gathers to yield to 460 East traveling drivers turning left onto North Main. The turn from the 460 West exit ramp onto North Main is a blind turn. This intersection is a blind down hill curve for the drivers traveling East on 460 at highway speed. The median is too small and short for 460 East traveling traffic that stops and gathers to make a left hand turn onto North Main. The median is not large enough to accommodate vehicles that are making a left hand turn from 460 West onto Farmingdale and there is no adequate turn lane for drivers turning left from 460 East onto Farmingdale. Please note that vehicles turning left onto Farmingdale are often long farm vehicles that are towing trailers. The acceleration lane from North Main onto 460 West is too short to be safe. I drive with extreme caution when going through this intersection and mostly avoid using 460 for entry and exit from North Main as I have had and seen many near missed crashes at this location. I have traveled to and from the K-8 school near this intersection twice daily on week days for over 7 years. There is a K-8 school and a preschool on North main near this intersection as well as several large housing developments and more on the way. The existing dangers with this intersection as is and with the R-cut plan will only get worse. Please value the safety

Neither Prices Fork nor Toms Creek are equipped to handle the extra load this place on them. Do it right to start with.

New interchange model along Bburg property located adjacent pump station gives us the safest option. R-cut will not solve our safety issue as merging traffic is still a high risk.

R cut is a dangerous intersection. Puts money over safety. We need safe infrastructure.

This intersection is very dangerous. An interchange at 460 and Main St. will alleviate the situation.

This dangerous intersection needs a thoughtful long-term solution, not a temporary stopgap that will complicate navigation in the area.
