Bishop Athanasios to REMAIN as Active Cleric & Community Leader

A much loved and highly respected figure. We need to fight this decision

The bishop has served and helped many in our Greek community and was always there to help and guide those that needed a listening ear.

Please do not ‘discard’ our Bishop , we are part of one family and need him.

Άστοχη . ανεξήγητη και σοκαριστική η απόφαση της απομάκρυνσης του πνευματικού μας Πατέρα ,Θεοφιλεστάτου Επισκόπου Τροπαίου κ.Αθανασίου από την κοινότητας του Αποστόλου Βαρνάβα ,που για πολλά χρόνια την υπηρετεί άψογα και με πολλή αγάπη και ζήλο .Η κοινότητα με αρχηγό και ποιμενάρχη τον Επίσκοπο μαζί με τον τέως Αρχιεπίσκοπο και τους συνεργάτες τους ,βοήθησαν στην ίδρυση και θεμελίωση μιας κοινότητας αξιοζήλευτης και πλούσιας σε πνευματική ,και κοινωνική προσφορά. Ο χρόνος επίσης της απόφασης εν μέσω πανδημίας ,που η κοινότητα μαζί με τον υπόλοιπο κόσμο κλονίζεται και χρειάζεται την στήρηξη περισσότερο από κάθε άλλη φορα, έρχεται αυτή η απόφαση που προκαλεί αναστάστωση και θλίψη και πολλά ερωτηματικά ως προς τι εξυπηρετεί αυτη η βιασύνη και ποια τα κριτήρια της απόφασης . Μια απόφαση που δεν έλαβε καθόλου υπόψη τον παράγοντα άνθρωπο και τον σεβασμό που του αξίζει. Ας σκεφτούν καλύτερα αυτοί που αποφασίζουν και να υπολογίζουν με σεβασμό ,τις ευαισθησίες και τις ανάγκες των ανθρωπων που επηρεάζονται άμεσα από τις αποφάσεις τους!

l think its absolutely disgusting and disgraceful that people have got absolutely no respect for his Eminence metropolitan of Colognia Athanasios should not be forced to retire its not up people l think people should leave his Eminence metropolitan of Colognia alone

Have some heart!

Bishop Athanasios, together with the great, late Archbishop Gregorios have been instrumental in creating and progressing the Greek Orthodox Community in, not just North London, but across the UK. We must indeed respect and safeguard their legacy. Our newly elevated Bishop is a critical and essential part of the Community and should remain to serve it for as long as it is feasible for him to do so. As a Community we should welcome change and progression, and we await clearer communication on this. We must however, respect the Bishop, his wishes and his years of service. I am sure an amicable solution will be found.

Bishop Athanasios is the heart and soul of the community for so many years! Both adults and children love and respect him. His wise words enlighten children of all ages as well as adults! He must be allowed to continue here with us all! There is no need to move him....

I dont get it !!why would you replace someone who offered so much support to our community with someone else?

Bishop Athanasiou is a pillar of the Greek Orthodox community and it’s clear that he will be sorely missed in his current role

He is the people's Bishop, our Bishop in this community, he sustained it over the years, as well as helped the Archdiocese as a whole. We need him to stay here.

Ηe has done so much over his years in service to support our community it would be unorthodox to throw him out.

Bishop Athanasios has dedicated decades of his life building the Greek and Greek Cypriot community through the church and school. Pushing him to one side like this is outrageously disrespectful.

We want Bishop Athanasios to remain active in our community
