Bishop Athanasios to REMAIN as Active Cleric & Community Leader

We want Bishop Athanasios to remain active in our community

Ο Θεοφιλέστατος συμπληρώνει 44 χρόνια συνεχούς προσφοράς στην Παροικία και είναι αδιανόητο να παραγκωνιστεί και να παύσει στα 77 του έτη όταν ακόμα έχει, μπορεί και θέλει να προσφέρει. Θα περίμενα η νέα ηγεσία της Αρχιεπισκοπής να έδειχνε περισσότερο σεβασμό, να θέσπιζε δίαυλους καλής επικοινωνίας και να προσέφερε καλή συνεργασία σε έναν τέτοιο Θρησκευτικό Λειτουργό που τυγχάνει να χαίρει και αρκετής αγάπης και δεσίματος με το ποίμνιό του. Είναι πάρα πολύ λυπηρό αυτό που μαθαίνουμε σήμερα και δυστυχώς αποτελεί άλλο ένα πλήγμα που θα οδηγήσει περισσότερο κόσμο στην έξοδο από την Ορθόδοξη εκκλησία της Αρχιεπισκοπής Θυατείρων και Μ Βρετανίας.

How disgraceful by our shameful leadership of the church. Is this the respect you show to the late Archbishop first of all and to a household name and face ? I began to lose faith in our church over here for a while but this will do it for me. You are all corrupted and driven by greed. Leave the man where he should be and don't try and fix what isn't broken.

Ο πάτερ Αθανάσιος θα πρέπει να μείνει κοντά μάς. Έχει κάνει πολύ καλή δουλειά για την κοινότητα τον Ελλήνων στο Λονδίνο. Νομίζω ότι πέρα από το έργο του ο πάτερ Αθανάσιος δικαιούστε να ζήσει κοντά στους ανθρώπους του.

It's my believe that Bishop Athanasios should stay where he is and totally unfair to be sent abroad.

Υπέροχος άνθρωπος και άξιος Επίσκοπος. Δένει την παροικία μαζι , τον χριστιανισμό και ελληνισμό ψηλά! Τον αγαπούμε και εκτιμούμε πολύ.

Bishop must stay. First of all he is an old man and second he has offered so much to the community. This is wrong.

He should be given the respect he deserves to decide on these matters not be given orders from above and not even be consulted about them. He must stay as long as he likes and reside at his premises and offices as long as he likes.

I cannot believe our beloved Bishop is being treated in such a way. I support him for all he has done for our community.

This is absolutely disgusting behaviour. I can not believe this could happen to someone who has given so much to the community.

I hope our beloved bishops isn’t moved

Its such a shame to treat our Bishop Athanasios in this way. He served our community with dedication and commitment. I will try to communicate with the Achisbshop and express how unholy his actions are to remove Bishop Athanasios.

To remain active and ANY transition of community leadership and authority needs to be guided by him. He can then retire, remaining at the community accommodation for as long as he wishes.

Bishop Athanasios is the heart of the Greek Cypriot community. Taking the heart the body is bleating. I wish that this great mistake will stop. He should remain in Woodgreen until the end of his life. He has still much to offer

He is one of the pillars of our community.
