We are opposed to the Biosecurity Amendment (Enhanced Risk Management) Bill 2021, specifically in relation to broadening the scope of the current Biosecurity Act 2015 to include biosecurity enforcement orders upon "classes of individuals", specifically requiring them to wear specified clothing or equipment (108M), to be relocated and detained (108L), for an indefinite time (108 (2) ) and to provide body samples to the World Health Organization (108P).

While we understand that these changes are to be imposed upon infected groups arriving into the country by plane or vessels, it does not expressly exclude the possibility of it also being applied to other "classes" of people already residing in the country such as the unvaccinated, or to certain ethnic, religious or politicosocial groups residing within Australia.

We therefore ask the House to reject this bill. In its present form it does not offer adequate protections or limitations to the possible overreaching use against certain classes of people, such as the unvaccinated and sending them to Wellness Camps already in existence in this country

There is no need for any amendments and certainly not for the detainment of any residents of Australia that have not returned from overseas.

This is very concerning. We as humans retain our human autonomy and our individual right to chose what goes into our bodies. Our grand fathers fought and gave their lives for our freedoms. We can peacefully voice our concerns about legislation that may subject people to harm and impose on them medical procedures that they do not consent too.

The legislation contains many loopholes that can be used for ulterior motives by corrupt individuals in authority.

Laws need to be transparent and debated not brought in without full disclosure of the full implications for those ordinary citizens who are labeled as security threats for holding onto their beliefs of freedom to choose, amongst other things. I stand for amendments and discussion to prevail once our full Parliament returns, and not before.

This bill must only be allowed to pass if amendments are clearly made to exclude the unvaccinated living in Australia

A bill like this needs to specifically exclude people that reside in Australia and are not vaccinated as otherwise this bill could be used to lock away groups of people that only follow their democratic right of Australians to opt against the vaccine and that are otherwise healthy and have no Covid infection

This could be used in a detrimental way in our society
