Biometric passports for Algerians in BC

mon passeport algérien est expiré depuis septembre 2015. j'ai appelé le consulat algérien et ils m'ont dit que je doit me dépasser à ottawa donc dépenser au moin 1000 dollars ! je leus ai demandé si ils étaient prêts à me rembourser mais il ont rigolé ! je savais qu'ils ne paieront pas mais j'ai demandé ça juste pour leur faire le point!

we are waiting for a year to get the passport and we cant go to ottawa for finger prints. we need you to come here with well planned program this time

Hello Everybody !! I just called the consulate and the guy on the phone told me that there will be nobody coming to help us here. The only suggestion he gave me was was : SEND A PETITION THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS. The consulate can't do anything else.

We are a Algerian family of four living in Kelowna BC, it is hard for us and costly to travel to Ottawa to complete our passport process. Recently, I called the Algerian Embassy to get more details how to get the passport, the response was that they came on April 2015 in Vancouver and few people showed up. I've not been informed by mail/telephone about that visit, if the Algerian community is not large in BC, it is easier to inform people about the visit schedule by mail/telephone the same way we receive any updates from BC services. Cheers.

It doesn't make sense for over a hundred people to each pay around $1000 (airfare, food, hotel, transportation from/to airport, etc…) to come to Ottawa to reclaim a passport that is rightfully ours! While, like others have already said, only a couple of consulate employees can make the trip to Vancouver at a fraction of the cost. I would suspect the Algerian community in Vancouver would be willing to put $20 per person (requiring a passport), and that should cover the expenses for those two Algerian consulate employees to make the trip to Vancouver. Please, have this future trip clearly planned and communicated to the Vancouver Algerian community, so that all is in order well in advance. At the very least, the Algerian consulate in Ottawa, should provide free entry visas to Algeria; to dual citizen-Algerian nationals who have yet to obtain their new biomedical passports!

Can some one please come to Vancouver to help us complete our passports finger print and pictures We sent the application form but we can not afford to travel to Ottawa Thank you

I really need my passport for my self and all my family We live in Vancouver BC and it's very expensive to travel all the way to Ottawa we can not afford it We are all hopping for some one to come from the am bash to get our finger print including pictures We sent all 5 of us applications for passports Thank you.

Hello I live in Vancouver BC, it's very hard for me to come all the way to Ottawa to apply for my passport including my wife and 3 kids it will cost me more then 6000$ I hope some one will come to Vancouver so we can have this problem resolved Thank you.

En tant qu’algériens, nous demandons avoir le droit d’accès aux passeports biométriques. Comme vous le savez certainement, la distance entre la région ou nous somme installés et le consulat est très grande. Ceci pose beaucoup de contraintes aux familles pour se déplacer car cela implique l’achat de billets d’avion, avoir des jours libres pour les parents et leurs enfants et l’accommodation une fois arrivés. Hélas, cela est impossible pour nous. En plus, certains ressortissants sont souffrants, donc incapables de se déplacer pour le moment. Pour les raisons sus-citées et plein d’autres, nous demandons qu’une équipe soit envoyée par vos soins pour traiter nos demandes. Car il est plus logique de faire déplacer quelques employés ici que demander aux familles de le faire.
