To the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba These are the reasons for this petition: 1.Plastic bags are harmful to humans,animals and the environment. 2.Toxins from photo-degration(break-down of plastic bags)end up in Manitoba\'s soil,water ways and food supply. 3.Plastic bags take many years to photo-degrade and are a blemish on our roadways, parks, streets,hang from bushes and trees and litter our landfills. 4.There are many alternatives readily available ranging from reusable bags to bio-degradeable bags to crates and boxes. We petition the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba as follows: 1.To support Bill 200-The Waste Reduction and Prevention Amendment act presented by the Member from River Heights to ban single use-check out bags in Manitoba. ***
