Please open your eyes to the bigger picture for these guys and the younger kids. It seems a shame that this bit of countryside can't be an adventure playground for those with a positive attitude towards making the most of it. Please allow them the freedom to express themselves, and discover and develop their talents.

Let them ride! I am an adult now, but as a youth, building trails was the greatest motivator I had. It reinforces a sense of community and cooperation between participants. Trails provide kids an outlet for creativity and energy that would otherwise be spent on more michevious activities.

Spend the money on kids who need help recovery from drugs and alcohol or have need a new outlook in life. Don't waste it on something that only brings positivity to a community. If you're concerned about the saplings, plant some more elsewhere or don't use large earthmovers to destroy the jumps which also destroy the saplings more than what the riders will. I am from Australia and am proud of these guys for standing up for a cause that needs attention. You have my full support. Nate.

The Forestry Commission is a public service with a policy which states "Our aim is to increase the contribution that trees, woods and forests make to the quality of life for those living in, working in or visiting England.
To increase the use of trees, woods and forests for recreation and physical activity, promoting healthier lifestyles, enjoyment and a greater understanding of the natural environment."
Their attitude of the Trustees of Savernake Estate towards the young people in the area around Chisbury Wood is, to say the least, disappointing and demonstrates the lack of community awareness of so many quangos that are responsible for so much of our lives. It makes me ashamed to be an adult.
I wish you all the best and hope that someone in the FC sees beyond their own interests and does the right thing for the community that they serve.

The guys are right, its only mud. Letting them do this breaks them away from a culture of drugs and crime, which often is predominant in small towns. Let them ride, its only mud....

Please do not tear down this bike park. Please consider the affect these jumps have on you (the people who want them gone) most likely very little. This place is a sanctuary to a deticated group of riders, an extension if their personalities.
While there is still plenty of room for the rest of the community to use these woods.

i feel you pain, my local jumps got torn down buy the district but lucky for me and where i live we have other places to build. I really hope this goes through if and if you read this i will be very willing to help as much as i can!

Dirt jumping is great. My friends and I build around our village all the time, and I would hate it if that happened to us.

I hope the best for their outcome. Its ashamed of what kids do cuz they're "bored". I've done that and thankfully this sport saved me from that.

i still can't understand why municipalities refuse to see the positives, which far out weigh any negatives, that arise when biking and more specifically dirt jumping are allowed within any community... a page is turning though and they are really starting to be built legally in record numbers now in small rural communites and even here within the boundries of international cities... please reconsider what has been done and at least take a more than honest look into the benefits again

I am 17 and work on over 35 miles on a dedicated public trail system in my area, and we have permission to use the public lands owned by a timber company to work the dirt. No wooden features are allowed besides bridges so we don't ruin the streams. I have put a few hundred hours into building the trails but some people have put in thousands of hours towards a nicer riding community. I think with some negotiations with whoever owns the land that everything should work out for you. Good luck guys!

Thats just wrong. I grew up in the dirt jumps of my town since they were wrecked ive been so depressed and have had nothing to do ive been around alot more people doing drugs and hate it damn whoever did it
