The Pella City Council is currently considering the addition of recreational

infrastructure at Big Rock Park to include mountain bike trails, a disc golf course,

and additional hiking trails. This petition is an opportunity to share your opinion with

the Pella City Council!

The decision to allow such recreational enjoyment was once approved by the City

Council, the Pella Parks Department, and the Kuyper family who generously donated

the land to the city in 1958 to benefit all community members. However, despite

this support, the movement has since met opposition, stalling citizen and volunteer

efforts.

We truly believe that preservation and recreation can work hand-in-hand at Big

Rock Park and that the park is a space that can be appreciated and respected by all

—hikers, nature lovers, mountain bikers, and disc golfers alike. Please speak up and

sign this petition to support community enjoyment and recreational use of this local

gem.

Big rock is a great spot. Let people use it! It's just sitting there going to waste right now.

PLEASE get this through! We need a disc golf course in town so bad. So tired of driving to Des Moines to play.

Pella needs more stuff for the kids to do outdoors. Mountain bike trails would be a huge upgrade for the park.

Stop holding this up. The Kuyper family wanted it for the community and we want to use it.
