I fully support all efforts to regulate the cost of long term RENTALS. I am a single disabled mom with section 8 housing and it's almost impossible for me to find a home to rent at the prices the owners of the homes are asking. I'm allowed a home for my child and I from section8 at the monthly rate of $750.00. I can't even find a studio or room for rent at that rate let alone someone who will accept a family with section 8. I am a kamaaiana for over 45years and now I have no other alternative but to move out of state with my keiki who happens to be of Hawaiian ancestry. There is NO HAWAII OR ALOHA without any Hawaiians/Kanakamaoles!

The rental market has been severely inflated and there is a huge lack of options.

It has always baffled me how we even started the real estate market & who has the right to charge for something that they didn't make... Rentals with pet Allowance is close to impossible, but I believe we can make a difference in numbers...

Gotta keep it affordable!

There should be regulations in place and fine or legal suits to landlords/property management company that break the law. It is getting harder and harder to find a livable and affordable place for my family. Rents are too high and not to mention they are dumps. Please protect the tenants more. There are hard working family out there trying to get by.

Aloha, My sister and I are both permanently disabled. We income and credit qualify (as I used to be an Apartment Manager) and I know the Fair Housing Laws. It is illegal to discriminate, if some one pays the application fees and qualifies and has deposit, it is illegal for Landlords and Property Management Companies to collect ongoing applications to pick and choose. It is illegal to say no children unless it is a 55+ year old tenant only complex. It is illegal to say no day guests, no smoking but 420 (marijuana) is ok. The law is 2 people per bed (sometimes plus 1 if an infant) Which means studios and 1 bedrooms are allowed 2 people. It is illegal to rent to vegans only or a specific religion. All of this is illegal. Please look up Fair Housing Act and see how many Landlords and Property Management Companies are breaking laws on a daily basis while homes are still sitting on market and people are homeless.

I have had a deposit and first months rent to move now for so long but there's nothing to rent that I can qualify for! We are a family of four.

To all my family and friends...PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION...We need to stop this unfair practice...Too many families are becoming homeless practically overnight...landlords are teaming up with rental agents and drawing up UNREASONABLE RENTAL QUALIFICATIONS...WE NEED TO STOP IT NOW...

Housing should be available for all in need. Great petition for a big cause. I hope to see more people actually putting action into this issue.

We are signing as we are not able to afford what is being ask it's outrageous we disable please help to lower the rent don't be so greedy landlords.

Oahu is the same way...jacking prices up and up...seems like the Reality Companies are in on it together...how can someone survive..I had to move to the main land because of this...please help those who are still living there. ..help save our aloha...mahalo
