We the undersigned support this petition to endorse the Beverly Area Planning Association's efforts to apply for and be awarded a $1.5 million grant from the City of Chicago to be used to make improvements at Beverly Park. Beverly Park is one of the most used parks in our community. Residents of all ages use the park to play baseball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, tennis and use the playground. The park is in desperate need of many improvements such as a new field house with better storage for equipment, new bathrooms, a concession area and a meeting space. The fields could be redesigned with a better layout to better serve the users and spectators for both baseball and football and lacrosse. Additional lighting is critical and a stage or pavilion would provide opportunities for concerts and various other events to engage and connect our community. I walked my dog at Beverly every day. The field house is a disgrace! The citizens of the Beverly community use and take care of the park. We need a field house to reflect the community.
I was a Beverly resident for most of my life and I would love nothing more than to see improvements within Beverly Park. I'm pretty sure if I were to go there today it would look exactly the same as it did when I was a kid at day camp 30 years ago. The next generation of kids deserves a better place to play!
It is a park I grew up in, attended day camp as a youngster and played multiple organized sports in as did my children. It is a great and appropriately named park for our community and deserves an investment to become our neighborhood’s shining jewel.
Beverly Park has been long overdue for improvements. Both parks in our community need bathrooms and a new field house. Munroe Park’s field house is never opened so there are no bathrooms when we are hosting baseball games.
Definitely need a bigger field house; while Miss Sue needs to store items in the field house; the existing field then does not have the space for children inside.
This is very important, every child needs a safe place to play. I am the president for Dolton-Riverdale and Little League and I understand the difficulties of ensuring that the children have a good and safe place to play, among other things

Beverly Park is outdated. And as. A city employee that works in many neighborhoods I see many parks being rehabbed and it’s time for Beverly to have a makeover.
