We the undersigned support this petition to endorse the Beverly Area Planning Association's efforts to apply for and be awarded a $1.5 million grant from the City of Chicago to be used to make improvements at Beverly Park. Beverly Park is one of the most used parks in our community. Residents of all ages use the park to play baseball, football, lacrosse, volleyball, tennis and use the playground. The park is in desperate need of many improvements such as a new field house with better storage for equipment, new bathrooms, a concession area and a meeting space. The fields could be redesigned with a better layout to better serve the users and spectators for both baseball and football and lacrosse. Additional lighting is critical and a stage or pavilion would provide opportunities for concerts and various other events to engage and connect our community.
