Better Plan to Avoid Three-week Closing of Sea Island Road

This will become a safety and liability issue in the case of a medical emergency. In addition, schools on the mainland may be interrupted when students and staff are delayed. An evening schedule has worked in other counties. Let's consider all the factors before shutting down the road.

A possible solution is to change the JSWC's 40 hour work week to weekdays from 930-230pm and weekends from 9-5pm. Additionally, they could try to keep 1 lane open. This may help to minimize the impact on school/ work traffic.

All this traffic chaos to fill the pockets of a company that has NO regard for the preservation of nature on our island.

Please try to find another way to make these repairs. Through traffic, even one lane during school travel hours, would be very helpful.

Closing this road will cause major complications with traffic. There was an accident at same location before and this whole island was completley clogged all over. Took over an hour to get to Sea Palms. Will need police directing traffic in the morning anf afternoon. It is also going to affect business.

Terrible idea to close Sea Island Rd. for a month. They must find another solution as this is not the answer. The gridlock will be insane and emergency vehicles will have no quick access on & off island.

I'm an employee at a daycare center on the island which requires me to use Sea Island Rd. which will now be a disaster. I read the sign daily about it'll be close from the 4th to the 22nd of February. Although it's a 2 laner, I've never had any complaints, but by it being closed those dates, will cause a lot of confusion and time! Please reconsider the length of closure.

Shut down this abomination! Horrible planning ,poor county management and a blatant disregard for current residents.

This is absurd! Remember when they worked on that little bridge the results. School buses, contractors, people going to work and home will cause massive grid lock solid on whole island. God help us if.an ambulance needs to get off!

Why make things so difficult for current island residents only to accommodate future residents and one over zealous builder?

A three week closure is poor planning. It seems as though many property owners will suffer. And for what, the profit of one?

Have NO idea how everyone will get to school and work. Terrible hardship - need to find another solution. Also dangerous!

Is there another solution possible that would not impact the traffic as much, perhaps night work or off peak times?

I don't think they realize the nightmare this will create!

This will hurt businesses and will show just how much this Island needs a second causeway to get off the island!!

Let's stop the insanity!

Closing one of our 3 roads onto and off the island makes NO SENSE at all! Please find a better way!!

I live on the north end. What is going to happen if there is an emergency? How are the emergency vehicles going to be able to travel at the peak travel times? This upcoming gridlock will one day be the norm. So while you are waiting in traffic think about what it would be like if we HAD to evacuate the island. How many days notice do you think we would get?
