Close it down for the time it needs to cross the road not the whole month. Enforce speed limits by on-site officers and no excuses for speeding.

Work one side of the road until it's done. Then go to the other side of the road and finish that side. Then, go back to the spot that it needs to cross the road, shut down at 7 pm and do it. If it takes 2 nights, fine but it shouldn't take 1 month.

This is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. When the DOT needs to do road work in Atlanta, they do it at night with generators and commercial grade lighting. Do the work at night. You can't gridlock an entire island of people leaving them only one lane to leave and enter the island!

Start the work from 9:00 AM to 3:30PM. Closed the road on the weekend if necessary.

Southern Soul will have a record month. Will need to purchase golf carts to supply stranded tax payers with food and water. Wont be a shortage of unemployed wait staff. This is probably very well thought out. Were just too stupid to realize it.

Why can El Chapo tunnel under just abut anything without being noticed? Perhaps we need to re solicit this project to some fresh blood.

As there is only one north/south route on the island, closing the Sea Island Road will create major headaches. There is NO alternate route; we will essentially be closed off from easy access to Brunswick in case of an emergency.
Gridlock will be unacceptable.
Please find another way to accomplish this task.

Of course The Brunswick New gave a false web sit for the petition. This all being done to appease the developer not the citizens of St. Simons Island. When the development was halted it was stated it would take 2 years to upgrade the system. Now 23 months have been erased from the upgrade process it's a miracle.

I feel that he commissioners care waaaay more about big money developers than the residents of St. Simons and this is another slap in the face that says that us and our money and texts we pay don't matter at all.

We lived through this back when the bridge was repaired and it was a nightmare!! Since then, traffic on the island has increased dramatically so this closure may create an impossible situation!!
