My parents were picking me up from Goshen and they had to pull up to the curb for a minute while I loaded my things into the car. The parking enforcer began yelling at us and threatened to give my mom a ticket, double the amount. This is ridiculous because all the parking surrounding Goshen is filled with meters, food trucks, or blocked off for construction. Who the hell thought this was fair??

Yes!! Such a burden along with the extremely high rent everywhere! Especially for out of state students who cannot get Borough passes at all!

WCU always emphasizes that they have such a large commuter population, yet the parking is a complete mess. I have paid an insane amount in parking meters, passes, & the parking improvement fee that is apart of our tuition bill every semester. Yet, there’s overcrowded shuttle busses, with people standing and sitting on the floor. Students fighting over parking and cussing at eachother over a spot, expensive tickets and cars getting towed. It’s absolutely awful, and nothing is changing, it honestly just gets worse and they keep closing parking to build new buildings to attract more students, yet there’s not enough parking as it is to hold these students.

The parking situation is awful, we are all paying a parking improvement fee, fees for tickets and also a parking pass. The shuttle system is terrible, there are usually people sitting on the floor or standing up due to overcrowded buses. I have paid an insane amount on street parking & garage parking ( when there’s spots which is unlikely) just so I wouldn’t have to wait for the shuttle in R lot alone, at 11:30 at night after work. The emergency buttons sometimes don’t work, so definitely not safe to be sitting at the stop alone, behind the football field. Now that I commute, I can never find parking either. There are so many students and not enough parking, they are continuously trying to build new things and accept more students but won’t fix the main issue which is parking. A large percent of the students are commuters and they do a terrible job at accommodating parking for not only us, but on campus residents, and the professors as well. Something needs to change!!!

Honestly atrocious how much students pay for parking to not even be able to find a spot. Shuttle buses have not improved enough to compensate this. There is also plenty of unused parking in the rec that is CONSTANTLY empty.

I work full time and go to school full time and have gotten countless parking tickets for being 5 mins over the meter! I once confronted a parking employee trying to ticket my car when I had already paid. His excuse was that my license plate (which was accidentally one number off bc I was hastily typing it in) didn’t match. He then gave me a $25 ticket. His attitude and the circumstance was ridiculous and I should’ve never gotten a ticket for that when the receipt wasn’t even expired!

Parking is such a nightmare in thee entire borough but something really needs to be done about the parking on campus! There’s not enough and what there is is so expensive that’s it’s not even worth it! WCU needs to figure this out!!!!!
