Better Internet Service for Bay of Islands

Our wifi sucks at the moment, and I have a family of 6! Can hardly use the wifi without having trouble.

I really hope that this pettition is successful because with all of the new technologies out or coming out sometimes requires constant connection but the smaller communities in Newfoundland lack those good constant connections so the smaller communities are not going to be as modern as places like St John’s.

10 mins outside of corner brook we get very poor and extremely overpriced internet. For the amount of money bell is charging the people you would think it would be no problem to install better internet/fibre op but I guess they got us by the balls because we are still goin to keep what we got cause we have no other options here :(

we pay way to much money for the internet we receive we deserver better service for our money also we cant even get cellphone service down our way

im in pei its terrible i pay almost 90 a month for "up to 7 mbps" although the lines can only hold 7 but the tech told me theres no profile that actually allows 7 to come through only 6 and 8 mbps and the 8 is to much for the lines so they give you 6 AT BEST more like 4 to 5 i can travel 30 mins to town and get fiber op for like 10 20 more a month for 30 x faster net how is this right the government needs to regulate these guys they have a monopoly in rural pei so they dont care to ever upgrade .

We do need faster service on the Northshore in Meadows. The speed is terrible which causes a lot of problem for doing courses online.

So tired of the poor service; internet speed is at 12% most of the time, I can't go on internet if Netflix is being used as the movie will freeze up. Very poor service.

Sevice is with eastlink, unable to use the Internet if kids are on it...only can get 2 devices on at a time, for what we're paying for it the service should be better

I'm wondering if there's a related Facebook Group to this issue? In other to get the "tentacles of awareness" out about the Internet and other telecom problems in the Bay of Islands region, a related Facebook group similar to "Fed Up With Rural Broadband in Nova Scotia" should be created. A good name for it is "Better Internet Service for Bay of Islands" where visitors would comment about Bell and Eastlink's telecom services, including Internet, get a link to this petition, have links to our telecom provider's pages, and information about our important contacts.
