This proposal will help our agriculture producers and our timber industry function better during the closures also travel between Gunnison and Montrose for medical emergencies and general medical appointments won't be affected as much as the current proposal.

This is a beautiful canyon to drive through. Put up warning signs instead of destroying the beauty. Can't understand destroying nature instead of letting people pay the consequences of being reckless

We own a truck stop Exxon in Montrose and property at Arrowhead. Highway 50 is a Major Route in the southern part of Colorado. This project apparently will go through but you CAN’T just shut down the highway for the trucking industry and for tourist and property owners. This project is NOT READY TO MOVE FORWARD. Remember the project on I 70 Glenwood Canyon, take a look at that project and see how you can still remain Highway 50 open. It worked then and it can work now. Just coming out of the pandemic Coronavirus many businesses have struggled. With this project this will put an additional burden for businesses many will not survive. Remember these businesses pay Property Taxes, City Sales Tax and create jobs which will all be lost.

We are property owners in the Arrowhead community. This closure of US-50 will be a terrible thing for all who travel to and from Montrose and Gunnison. 1-Many people travel this route for their jobs every day. 2-The economy is hurting already and this will devastate many businesses. 3-This is a major US Highway, not only used by locals but also by thousands of non-locals. These travelers are not familiar with the alternate routes. 4-The very tight "open window" for the highway is extremely too short. How will the long line of vehicles be able to get through? 5-This will be disastrous for those traveling for medical care regardless if it is an emergency or non-emergency care. 6-It is quite possible travelers will be stuck in line waiting for the travel window to open and not make it through. They will then be stuck until the next window opens. So everyone traveling this route for next two years will need to be prepared to SIT in line 10 hours or more or overnight. This is a possibility if the complete line of traffic does not make it through before the window closes. Once in line, there is no guarantee you will be able to make it through, you have no idea how many vehicles are ahead of you or how many will clear.
The concerns are not about a small county road project affecting a couple of hundred residents. This is a major US Highway traveled by thousands of private and commercial vehicles every day. It is a beautiful and dangerous route as are many. Safety is a concern but I do not see the current proposed project necessary. There needs to be adjustments made to facilitate less disruption in traffic flow during the construction period.

We rely on this road to connect with the supplies of feed and livestock markets in Eastern Colorado. We also have livestock trucks coming from Gunnison which need access. These uses are necessary Mon - Fri, not on week-ends.

This project is going to cut an entire community off from the world for 3 years. Its not a safe plan right now. The project isn't ready to move forward. Don't rush it without better closure options.

My wife and I live in Arrowhead and work in the valley. These opening times DO NOT ALLOW US TIME TO GET TO OUR JOBS ON TIME unless road conditions are perfect. OPEN THE ROADS AT 6am PLEASE and Thank you.

There are more pressing road projects than this one! Why must all roads be rebuilt so speed can be increased? Are people in such a hurry they cannot enjoy a beautiful drive. If the road needs resurfaced that is fine but it does not need to be widened snd straightened.

Just bought property in Sept 2020 on Arrowhead....was not expecting this! This is going to put a lot of pressure on the residents there....we will probably speed more to meet the open times to get through the construction?? Duh, does that make sense!
