After sitting thru the information meeting held in Montrose several months ago it was extremely apparent that the original plan did NOT seriously take into consideration the impacts on local residents or commerce related activities going thru this section of roadway. This new proposed plan helps alleviate some of those strains. The medical issues were also of huge concern at that meeting. Glad to see this is being revisited and not just a slam dunk deal for CDOT. As much as the Town of Crawford would be happy for the potential increase in business coming thru our area, when people are already delayed by the hour and a half detour, how many folks will actually be stopping? Thank you for giving everyone this opportunity to share their views!

The road "improvements" are not needed. Just lower the speed limit and increase the signage.

This project should be undertaken at night, yielding the road to vehicles during the day. Im not in favor of ruining this beautiful canyon anyway, but see the point of trying t make the road safer. However, the impact on commerce to all SW CO is unacceptable!

I'm not in favor of this project at all. Could have built road on the other side without closing 50 that's would be cheaper in the long run. My opion don't do this project unless you do it right. Your wasting alot more then 46 mill that don't count lost business for many businesses

At the very least I think they should keep the road open for 3 hours in the evening to allow people who work in town and have a 45-60 min drive to do errands and get home

I believe the extensive scope of this project is unnecessary. The road does need resurfaced etc., but install some warning signs at the entrances of the canyon and hope people use some common sense. We’re driving in the mountains here.

We have fuel trucks that travel back and forth between Montrose and Denver, also to Crested Butte and Gunnison to provide fuel delivery to our fuel stations. Abiding to HOS will be hard to do providing these hours of open time are not extended.

I can't imagine that even with extended hours that this will be anything less than an economic and social disaster for West Slope residents.
