The project is headed for many many problems best remedied by an realignment that would solve all the physical problems associated with this project. Turn the existing section in the canyon into a rest area.

There is a better way to improve the road in question. Senator Coram has the answer. With the help of the EPA and a few property owners the existing rd can remain in service while a new bypass to the south can be constructed. Accorded to senator Coram such a plan was proposed in the 60s.

As livestock producers who truck cattle along this road, we oppose the prolonged closures during construction. It is unsafe for our livestock.

We are full time Arrowhead residents. We are concerned about emergency medical care if needed and access to Gunnison because we own a business in Gunnison and need to be able to go there during the week.

As a livestock producer, my concern is to NOT have livestock trucks get stuck within this project for hours. Not only will that cause problems for the livestock health on those trucks but loss of revenue due to excessive shrinkage of weight of the livestock. The Zoom meeting on March 10, 2021, the CDOT representatives made concessions that livestock trucks would get priority to move through this project in a timely manner. A plan continues to be developed for that procedure to allow livestock trucks passage with little delay. I'm optimistic that will be fully developed and adhered to by CDOT as they expressed in the March 10, 2021 Zoom meeting.Please DO WHAT YOU SAY YOUR GOING TO DO! In this meeting CDOT Reps. said they are developing a telephone center to call for negotiating livestock trucks through this project without holdup. If CDOT will guarantee us this passage, I will be more supportive. Keep us involved in the developing plan to get livestock trucks priority with little delay getting us through the Little Blue Canyon project.

This timeline will have terrible repercussions. It limits business between Gunnison and Montrose...and will completely make a mess of summer travel traffic.

Having spent 27 years in the construction business in Montrose, I know how important it is for freight to get to the Western slope on a reasonable time. The current plan to only allow 5 hours of passage through the canyon, would greatly prohibit the timing factor for deliveries to the western slope. Freight would have to be so exact as far as being at the correct spot at the correct time in order to continue on their scheduled deliveries, and would not allow for any unforeseen interruptions. The additional time would give everybody a break, and therefore would help to keep commerce moving to the Western Slope.
