WE DID IT!!!!!
From the article: What You Need To Know About Expanded Unemployment Benefits For COVID-19 (https://bit.ly/2xkbyIN)
Gig workers, freelancers, self-employed are eligible!
In an unprecedented move, the stimulus bill expands unemployment protections to gig workers, freelancers and self-employed individuals, who typically don’t qualify for unemployment benefits.
Seth Harris, former Deputy U.S. Secretary of Labor, describes this aspect of the stimulus package as a “gigantic change,” but notes that it could be complicated to execute.
“It will be harder [to calculate] because these workers don’t have a W-2 or an average weekly wage,” Harris says. “These folks have income that varies dramatically from week to week or month to month.”
It’s not clear yet how state benefits will be calculated for these workers; unemployment is traditionally calculated as a percentage of weekly earnings, up to a maximum amount.

I am a self employed contractor performing service work for the FL DMV. All work is stopped as a result resulting in no income. We need unemployment benefits to support our families. I support this endeavor.

Thank you for this I do believe our voices need to be heard, I am a Master Cosmetologist and a Salon Owner, I have been in this business for over 26 years, business owner for 1 year, and I am a taxpayer and I do my due diligence every year to the IRS, bedsides vacation I have never not worked. The panic before we were forced to close here in Birmingham,Al; I was losing money because clients were afraid to come into the salon. So I do believe that we need everything we can possibly get to help us to continue to flow, because I still have a business that has to run after this is over and not be head over hills in debt. So we do need assistance

Please include me and my business in this petition, here in Maryland (DMV) Just minutes from capital hill, its frustrating that not one representative has thought about the self employed contractor i own FRESH STYLLZ FAMILY BARBER SALON i have 16 contractors that rent from me weekly ($3500), monthly($14,000) and this not only the businesses expenses($7000), but it supports my wifes tuition @Hood College (Registered Nurse), our 7 years old growing daughter as well as all of our living and transportation expenses ($7000) and we use every cent monthly so i ask this govt, what will we do with a one time payment of a maximum of $2900 supposed to fair for this family of three?
